Truckee Meadows Stormwater Quality Management Program

Welcome to the Truckee Meadows Stormwater Quality Management Program website, a collaborative effort between the Cities of Reno, Sparks and Washoe County.

We have developed several handbooks for use in the Truckee Meadows:
    1. Construction Site Best Management Practices;
    2. Low Impact Development Manual (Planning guidance document);
    3. Structural Controls Design Manual (Guidance on Source/Treatment for Storm Water
    Management)

Check out our "Watershed Mapserver"!  Take a look at maps, for the creeks in your home neighborhood, in the region, or the Truckee Meadows. Our committee has been funding tributary assessments annually since 2005, with the technical content added to this mapserver.  We intend to provide a mechanism to educate and connect our citizens to their local creeks, as well as to assist developers and planners in understanding their projects' potential impacts to our watersheds. Also, technical data, papers, news, and GIS info on the Truckee River watershed can be found on the Truckee River Info Gateway (or TRIG) website, at www.truckeeriverinfo.org.

Go to our news page!  For information on current activities and training opportunities.

The Truckee Meadows Stormwater Committee is committed to the development and implementation of the Regional Stormwater Quality Management Program under the Clean Water Act. The committee is comprised of two representatives from the City of Reno, the City of Sparks, and Washoe County, and works together on watershed protection as the "Truckee River Watershed Committee."  To learn more about the committee click here.
